For our art appreciation class, we had to do an assignment in which we had to create an illustration with the theme of realism. The illustration had to represent a current problem.

I chose to create an illustration of a man lying on the street, but no one helps him because everyone is busy filming. I thought this was a powerful message, because that has become the new normal. Nowadays, when something happens, people usually grab their phones to film it instead of helping people. I thought it was important to draw attention to this issue, because people should help instead of filming.
